Loved the short story! (And I'm with the others; where's the rest?! 😂) I'm particularly a big fan of one's companion creature (especially cats) turning out to be a protector of some sort, so that was a nice little cherry on top. 😊
Yeah… I’m a sucker for a fur ball you have loved turning out to be a magical badass, too! For now, it’s just a short. Buuuuut… sometimes these shorts just won’t leave me alone until they become something much more. LONELY KITTY was a work of flash fiction, which then expanded into a novella for Christmas Nibbles charity anthology, which THEN got expanded into book one of a whole new series 🤭🥳😈
Honestly, I’m so tempted to just make this a wee side project which I steal away to write on Saturday mornings… perhaps I’ll find an anthology to include it in or something?
